Women’s Club of Hollister announces scholarship winners

The Women’s Club of Hollister (WCH) is a nonprofit organization and is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. WCH annually supports the community through financial contributions to various charitable organizations, in addition to supporting the Scholarship Awards Program. The Scholarship Awards are intended to recognize graduating female seniors who reside in San Benito County and have excelled academically and have been actively involved in both student and community service activities.

At the recently held WCH Luncheon/Meeting at Paine’s Restaurant, the recipients and their parents were introduced to the membership.

The Women’s Club of Hollister is proud to announce the following as recipients of the Scholarship Awards for 2018:

Karina Collins, from San Benito High School, plans to major in Biology to become a doctor.
Magdalena Arias, from San Benito High School, plans to major in Civil Engineering to build homes, dams, and other structures.
Rachel Gorelik, from Gilroy Early College Academy, plans to major in Global Medical Missions to pursue her dream of becoming an OB/GYN.
Safia Bootwala, from San Benito High School, plans to major in Economics and then would like to go to law school to become a Corporate Lawyer.
Abigail Greene, from San Benito High School, plans to major in Environmental Engineering to create programs involving sustainability and zero waste.
Ladeesa Henry, from San Benito High School, plans to major in International Relations with a goal of working in Government as a diplomat or with the CIA.
