Updated: Hollister police car in minor accident

At about 11:15 a.m. Friday, a Hollister Police Department squad car was in a minor accident at Sally and Fourth streets. A female driver was in the other vehicle, a Ford hybrid. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene to take a report.

According to a Hollister police statement released on social media:

Officer Bo Leland and Police Trainee Melissa Castro were en route to assist another officer who was involved in a vehicle pursuit of a felony suspect of a drive-by shooting.

Despite the lights and siren being activated, another driver drove their car into the patrol car at the intersection of Sally Street and Fourth Street.

Thankfully everyone involved in the collision was uninjured. The California Highway Patrol responded to complete a report.

The Hollister Police Department would like to remind everyone to pull to the right and stop when being approached by any emergency vehicle (Police, Sheriff, CHP, Fire and Ambulance) with red lights and siren activated.
