Two armed robberies, shooting reported July 4 in Hollister

Two armed robberies, including one involving a shooting, occurred in Hollister the night of July 4, one on Nash Road and the other on Memorial Drive.

According to a statement from the Hollister Police Department:

The Hollister Police Department is seeking help identifying the suspects in two separate attempted armed robberies that on the same night.

On July 4, 2019, about 10 p.m., the man was walking home in the 300 block of Nash Road when a white, 4 door, sedan stopped in front of him. The suspect got out of the vehicle and approached him.

The suspect pointed a silver colored pistol at him and made demands for his wallet. The man refused to hand over his wallet or any money. The suspect fired the pistol and hit the victim several times, causing non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled in the white sedan.

The suspect was described as being a Hispanic, male about 20 years of age. He was wearing a dark-colored long-sleeve shirt and dark colored hat.

The man transported himself to the hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. The injuries did not break the skin and are consistent with a possible air gun or other type of weapon.

Later that night at about 10:37 p.m., a man was standing just outside of his residence on the 1500 block of Memorial Drive when a white SUV pulled up in front of him.

A male got out of the vehicle, approached the victim and demanded the victim to hand over personal items. The suspect was armed with a pistol.

The man refused to give the suspect anything. The suspect left in the SUV. The driver of the SUV was described as a Hispanic male. The suspect in this case was described as a Hispanic, male about 20 years of age, wearing a grey long sleeve shirt, white or grey hat and dark colored pants.
