A small earthquake shook the Aromas and San Juan Bautista areas Monday night.
The quake shortly after 7:30 p.m. registered at magnitude 2.7, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered three miles east-southeast of Aromas, according to the USGS. It was at a depth of about three miles as well.
The earthquake was registered at 7:34 p.m., according to the USGS. It was registered as a “weak” shake by local residents. It was felt south as Watsonville and as far north as an area near Morgan Hill.
