The California Highway Patrol is reporting a solo-vehicle fatality on Bolsa Road on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on the Bolsa near Bloomfield Avenue and involved a Chevy Cobalt. The CHP online reporting system says a rock pillar went through the vehicle.
It was reported as a fatality, while responders after 4 p.m. were still working on extricating a passenger in the car.
The roadway was shut down due to the accident, according to the CHP.
Around 4:30 p.m., another accident happened in San Benito County at Highway 156 and Union Road involving a semi truck and car, causing the westbound lane of the highway to be shut down temporarily.
