The Migrant Programs from San Benito High School District and the Hollister School District are offering a series of workshops for the migrant parents and their students in March and April.
Each year, the state requires that the program offer parent workshops and it makes sense to collaborate since the districts share the migrant families. The overall theme is mental health, but each day a specific topic will be covered.
Not only will families be able to better understand mental health but also learn about self-care and community resources. The workshops will be led by licensed clinical social workers and health professionals from the community.
The workshops will be at San Benito High School on March 7, March 13 and April 3 from 5:45-8 p.m. A light dinner will be served and childcare will be provided.

Los Programas de Educación Migrante de los Distritos de San Benito y de Hollister ofrecerán una serie de talleres para los padres migrantes y sus estudiantes en marzo y abril. Cada año, el estado requiere que el programa ofrezca talleres para padres y tiene sentido la colaboración de los dos distritos ya que compartimos familias. El tema general será la salud mental y en cada taller se tocará un tema en específico. Las familias no solo sabrán mas sobre la salud mental, también aprenderán sobre los recursos de la comunidad y la autoayuda. Profesionales de la salud y trabajadores sociales de nuestra comunidad guiaran los talleres. Los talleres serán en la preparatoria San Benito el 7 de marzo, 13 de marzo y 3 de abril de 5:45 -8pm. Se servirá una cena ligera y habrá cuidado de niños.
