San Benito County: 42 confirmed COVID-19 cases

San Benito County added one confirmed case of COVID-19 in its data release Thursday, bringing the total to 42.

Among those, 37 patients have recovered, three are active cases and two people have died, according to the county.

Nineteen of the cases have been caused by community transmission, with another 19 caused by person-to-person transmission – with three travel-related cases and one under investigation.

According to the latest from the county:

To date, a total of 651 patients in San Benito County have been tested for COVID-19 at thirteen reporting laboratories. Of these, 576 have tested negative for COVID-19 and 33 are pending results.

Fifty-seven percent (373) of patients tested were female. Patients ages ranged from 10 months to 101 years (median: 45 years). San Benito County Public Health Services continues to work with medical providers to identify and test individuals who meet criteria for COVID-19 testing.

As of April 16, 2020, there have been a total of 42 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in San Benito County; 3 cases remain active. Confirmed cases include patients who have since recovered and those who are deceased.

Thirty-seven patients have recovered and are no longer considered active cases in San Benito County.

A total of 2 deaths have been reported in San Benito County, one during weeks 12 and 14, respectively. All results included in this update are current to April 16, 2020 at 1:00PM.
