Roadwork to cause delays on southbound 101 near San Juan

Crews will perform several guardrail repairs while closing the left lane of southbound U.S. Highway 101 from just before the Highway 156 overcrossing to just before Rocks and Gannon Roads in the San Juan Bautista area for two days, starting Wednesday, Caltrans officials have announced.
Details are as follows in this announcement courtesy of Caltrans:
The southbound #1 (left) lane will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday, Oct. 18.
Roadwork hours are from 9 am to 2 pm each day.
Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes and are encouraged to detour onto Hwy. 129 or take an alternate route.
Electronic message boards will be placed to inform motorists of roadwork. The CHP will assist with enforcement and traffic control.
Several guardrails were recently hit and damaged in the median and in need of repair. Roadwork is being done by Hollister maintenance and Monterey guardrail crews.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
