Reward increased for investigation of projectile throwing on 101

The California Highway Patrol (CHP), Monterey Area office, continues to seek the public’s assistance to locate the person, or persons, responsible for 42 reported incidents of objects striking vehicles traveling upon SR-156 and US-101 in the Prunedale area.

The CHP was contacted by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and they have given their full resources to take action against this public safety threat. MCSO is offering $2,500 reward for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of the person(s) responsible. 

Monterey County Board of Supervisor Phillip’s office is offering $1,500 reward for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of the person(s) responsible.

The CHP wants to thank Supervisor Phillip’s office and the Monterey County Sheriff’s office for their assistance. A combined reward of $4,000 is now being offered. The safety of the public is our highest priority.
