Poythress has slim funding lead over Caballero for State Senate

Republican Robert Poythress, a Madera County supervisor, has raised the most funds in the race for the State Senate District 12 seat held by Anthony Cannella, who terms out this year.
Poythress had spent $11,869 and had $251,987 in cash through the end of December, but did not have numbers filed through the most recent period ending April 21 on the California Secretary of State’s website.
Current State Assemblywoman Anna Caballero, a Democrat, had raised $220,886.63 through April 21, according to campaign finance documents filed with the California Secretary of State’s Office. Her expenditures were $91,890 and she had ending cash of $430,860.
Fellow Democrat Daniel Parra had raised $3,850 and spent $17,553 with ending cash of $3,796.
Another Republican, Johnny Tacherra, had raised $31,388 through April 21 with $35,121 spent and $22,998 in ending cash.
