Continued summer roadwork and detours in the Hollister area have made their way to the heart of San Benito Street, so drivers may want to prepare for that.
On Monday morning, San Benito Street was closed for roadwork from Fourth Street to North Street with detours in place. Mayor Ignacio Velazquez said he expects more work on additional portions of the road, which transitions into San Felipe Road, all the way to Highway 25.
Development Services Director Bryan Swanson was not immediately available to provide details on the San Benito Street portion of the work.
