Police investigate fatality with pedestrian, ID victim

At about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 9, Hollister police officers responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian collision report.

Police released the following on the incident:

The incident was reported at Pinnacles National Park Hwy & Meridian. Hollister Fire and AMR responded as well. Officers located the victim, down on the roadway just north of Meridian St. The victim was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. It has been determined this was a hit & run collision. The investigation has revealed that at least one vehicle hit the victim and fled. As many as two more vehicles also may have struck the victim in the roadway after the initial collision. We do not have a description of the suspect vehicle(s) at this time. Other motorists stopped and attempted to render aid to the victim. This investigation has just begun and is ongoing. At about 9:30 p.m., Hollister Police Officers responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian collision report. The incident was reported at Pinnacles National Park Hwy & Meridian. Hollister Fire and AMR responded as well. Officers located the victim, down on the roadway just north of Meridian St. The victim was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.

The victim has been identified as Hollister resident Kathy Haro, 56 years old.

The investigation has revealed that at least one vehicle hit the victim and fled. As many as two more vehicles also may have struck the victim in the roadway after the initial collision. We do not have a description of the suspect vehicle(s) at this time. Other motorists stopped and attempted to render aid to the victim.
