Police arrest three alleging gun, drug, child endangerment charges

Police arrested three people Friday on gun, drug and child endangerment charges, according to the Hollister Police Department.

According to the HPD:

The Unified Narcotic Enforcement Team (UNET), arrested three people on gun, drugs and child endangerment charges.

On August 9, 2019, at about 7:00 A.M., UNET, Monterey County SWAT Officers, the Justic Bureau of Firearms, the U.S. Marshals, Califonia Highway Patrole with the help of the Hollister Police Department served a search warrant in the 900 block of Apple Court.  The search warrant was for the residence and person of Simon Lawerence Escobedo Torres (36).  Torres was wanted for outstanding felony state warrants and a fedral warrant.

As a result of the Search Warrant service, Joe Angel ROJAS (39 years of age), Ashley DAVILA (30 years of age), and four young children exited the residence. TORRES exited a rear door of the residence but returned inside when contacted by law enforcement. After several minutes and callings, it was decided to deploy tear gas in an attempt to have TORRES exit. TORRES would eventually exit and was placed into custody, without further resistance.

A search of the residence resulted in the seizing of three (3) handguns, one (1) semi-automatic, short barreled rifle, ammunition and controlled substances.

Torres was arrested on and booked on weapon and drug related charges.  Rojas was booked for weapon and child endangerment.  Davila was booked on child endangerment charges.
