James H. Thysell passed away in Menlo Park at the age of 88. He was born in North Dakota and lived in Hollister nearly 50 years. He was a teacher and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, who died in 2006.
He is survived by his children, Ken Thysell (Martha) of Seaside, OR, Robert Thysell of Hayward, Steven Thysell (Kathy) of Pittsburg, CA, Scott Thysell (Marie-Louise) of Hope Mills, NC and Janelle Spencer (Roy) of Santa Clara, his sister, Ruth Ann Hanson of Seattle, WA and his 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home with interment and military rites to follow at the IOOF Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by VFW Post 9242.
