Obituary: Beverly Rianda (1935-2018)

Beverly Rianda, 83, of Hollister, California, suddenly passed away on August 9th, 2018.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Tres Pinos on Saturday, August 18th at 1:00pm.

Bev was born in Hollister and lovingly raised by her grandparents, Alice and Joe Maggini. She attended Hollister High School and graduated in 1953. She worked as a registrar for San Benito High School and was an independent contractor for SASI software. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she was always looking forward to the next family gathering. Bev was the family historian, storyteller, and enjoyed researching genealogy. During retirement, she was able to travel extensively and readily shared tales of her experiences. She was involved with Native Daughters of the Golden West and especially enjoyed hosting the monthly Pedro parties. Bev was an active member of her class reunion committee and was about to celebrate her 65th reunion for the “Class of ‘53” next week.

Bev is survived by her children Rob Rianda (Jan) of Red Bluff, Teri Cultrera (Steve) of Manteca, Mary Margaret Lanning (Kurt), Timi King (John), John Rianda (Kathleen), Ron Rianda (Lauri), of Hollister and her brother George Tombe of Arroyo Grande. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who will miss their Grandma B dearly. Her warmth, faith, and selflessness are qualities that have inspired and shaped all those who knew her. She was the cornerstone of her family and has left a legacy of love and instilled the value of family with her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Bob Rianda, her mother Margaret Tombe, her father Oroville King, her grandparents Alice and Joe Maggini, and her brother Don King.

Memorial donations may be made to Native Daughters of the Golden West or charity of choice c/o the mortuary. Her family would like extend their gratitude to all those who have expressed their condolences and prayers.
