Nonprofit, school leaders hosting summit on arts education

The San Benito County Arts Council and local school entities are hosting an Arts Now Summit next week at Paine’s Restaurant for local leaders to discuss the future of arts education in the community.

The Arts Council sent out invitations for the event with limited seating. The organization’s announcement had the following information:

The San Benito County Arts Council, in partnership with the San Benito County Office of Education, Hollister School District and California Alliance for Arts Education, is hosting this dynamic event to discuss our new Arts Now Community and how we can collectively move the needle forward on providing local students with the skills, resources and support needed to thrive in the 21st century.

The San Benito Arts Now Community was established in 2016 as a coalition of local leaders representing school, community and business sectors, with the belief that every child deserves access to a quality, sequential and standards-based arts education.

This event is a unique opportunity for leaders to come together, strengthen support for Arts Education, and build a sustainable San Benito Arts Now Community.

WHEN:   7:30-9:30 am Feb. 23

WHERE: Paine’s Restaurant, 421 East St., Hollister
