Each year, the Community Foundation for San Benito County proudly celebrates National Philanthropy Day. This day is set aside in November to recognize the great contributors of philanthropy – those who enrich our community.
The League of United Latin America Citizens (LULAC) of San Benito County selected Riana Gutierrez as the recipient of the Philanthropy Day Award, which will be presented at the National Philanthropy Day dinner on Nov. 14 at San Juan Oaks Golf Club and Restaurant.
Riana Gutierrez is a Hollister native and 2016 graduate of San Benito High School. She is currently in college where she hopes to receive a degree in Nursing and Chicano(a) Studies.
Riana is most worthy of this recognition as she has given back with countless community volunteer hours. She has assisted in planning the annual Cesar Chavez Walk-A-Thon commemorating the late civil rights leader’s birthday.

She serves as the current President of the San Benito County LULAC Young Adult/Collegiate Council, which plays a key role in engaging college students in social justice issues and volunteerism. Riana is also Coordinator of the ADELANTE Youth Mentorship Program, which is a success-oriented program focusing on personal growth, professional connections, and critical thinking skills essential for college success.
In any way possible, Riana finds a way to give back to her community by creating real change.
