Heavenly Bakery has a new owner, but he has a familiar face.
Longtime Heavenly Bakery head chef Carlos Hernandez is the new owner of the business, opened in 2010 by local businesswoman Sheila Stevens and her late husband Bob.
The Hollister Downtown Association announced the change of ownership Thursday on social media.
Hernandez was not immediately available Thursday, and for good reason: He was working on a cake when San Benito Live contacted the business.
Stevens, meanwhile, is a longtime fixture in the downtown Hollister business scene herself. She still owns She’s Consignments and Gifts at 208 Fifth St. and formerly owned such businesses as She’s clothing store and the Knife & Fork Cafe, both on San Benito Street.
