HPD: Intoxicated driver crashes into house

Hollister police are investigating an intoxicated driver who crashed his vehicle into a residence Monday evening on Hamilton Drive.
According to a statement released late Tuesday morning:
On Dec. 10 at approximately 6:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1293 Hamilton Drive after receiving a report that a vehicle had crashed into a residence.
When officers arrived they found a vehicle had run into the residence. The speeding vehicle went through a wall on the west side of the house, and the front end of the vehicle came to rest in one of the bedrooms of the home. One of the witnesses who reside in the house described the impact as an explosion. Fortunately, none one in the house was injured as a result of the crash.
The driver of the car, who was identified as being Joel Banuelos Ledesma, was found a short distance from the residence with a leg injury. There was one passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision that was flown to a trauma center for treatment.
As officers were interviewing Ledesma, they noted he was showing signs of intoxication. Field sobriety test revealed a high level intoxication while drugs were also located inside the vehicle. Ledesma was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for injuries during the collision.
Ledesma is facing charges of felony drunk driving and drug charges.
