HPD: Free micro-chipping at Hollister Animal Shelter

On Jan. 24, the Hollister Police Department Animal Care and Services is offering free micro-chipping for dogs and cats.

The Hollister Animal Care and Services received a generous donation of $500 for the purchase of micro-chips from Forgiving Paws Thrift Shop located in Hollister. The micro-chips will be provided free of charge to anyone wanting to micro-chip their pets. The mission of Forgiving Paws is to raise funds to support life-saving work of Animal Shelters and Rescue Groups.

Micro-chipping your pet is a lost pet’s best chance of finding his way home. Ten million pets get lost every year, and without identification, 90% of them will never return home.

You can obtain your voucher for a FREE micro-chip at the Animal Care and Services located at 1331 South Street, Hollister, CA 95023. Appointments will be needed to administer the micro – chip for your pet. The Animal Care and Service hours are Monday thru Friday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm (831) 636-4320.
