Hollister students show off swing dance moves in competition

Courtesy of the Hollister School District:

The Hollister School District is proud to recognize one of the district’s largest dance competitions which took place on Thursday. The competition was held at Calaveras/AAA on the blacktop and featured more than half of the combined school’s 8th, 7th and 6th grade students.

Students demonstrated to elementary students, teachers and parents their newly learned beginning/intermediate swing dancing skills. The school awarded medals to student dance teams in each grade level who finished in the top 3.

The school staff truly made the affair a ‘who’s who?’ event and encouraged the kids to dress up and display “social graces” for the competition. Mr. Mike Hernandez, the school’s PE teacher, acted as the MC for the event. He also handled the lion’s share of the preparation and planning for the event. Great job Mr. Hernandez! For more information, contact Superintendent Diego Ochoa at [email protected].
