The Hollister Police Explorers group is hosting the third annual 5K Foot Pursuit fundraiser run/walk at Brigantino Park in Hollister on May 12.
The organization is needing sponsors and offers three levels, gold for $1,000, silver for $500 and Bronze for $250, along with sponsors for T-shirts, medals, water, a snack station, donated giveaways and a kids’ event.
The fundraiser goes toward helping the program purchase uniforms and equipment, participate in community events and learning activities. A portion of proceeds goes toward the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation.
There are event categories for civilians, explorers and law enforcement teams. Awards go to the top three teams in each category, while teams are not required and participants can run as individuals.
Medals and T-shirts go to the first 300 participants in the main event.
There is also an option for a one-mile kids run, and there will be a public safety fair, canine demonstration and kids’ zone with a bounce house and other activities.
Registration check-in is at 8 a.m. with the run starting at 9 a.m.
Individuals should register before March 1 for $30, between March 2 and April 30 for $35 or after that until the day of the event for $40. With five-plus team members, the price is $25, $30 or $35 in the same time frames.
