Hollister police allege man broke into business, battered employee

On August 11, 2019 the Hollister Police Department responded to a report of a man who entered a business, battered several employees and attempted to take items.

At about 6:05 a.m., officers received a call from a business located in the 700 block of Sally Street.  They said a man had broken into the business and battered an employee.  The man was last seen running away.

The businesses manager said upon arrival he noted the lights were on and several of the interior doors were open. He did not think anything of it until he saw the suspect, later identified as being Angel Aguero, 47, walking through the business. Aguero is a local transient.

The manager asked Aguero what he was doing. Aguero repeatedly said he was the owner. Aguero began to fight with manager. Another employee came to manger’s aid and Aguero ran off.

Officers learned that Aguero had taken items from the break room and was trying to take some equipment.

Officers found Aguero a short time later. He was arrested and booked on the charges of burglary and battery.
