Hollister man, 39, killed in shooting homicide

Hollister police reported that a 39-year-old man died in a suspected homicide.

The incident happened Aug. 22 on Santa Ana Road, but the man, Ronald Molina, passed away Wednesday. The police department made the announcement Friday afternoon.

According to the police statement:

On Aug. 22, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Santa Ana Road. There were reports of shots fired then subsequent reports of a man who had been shot.

On August 22, 2018, at 4:24 P.M., officers received a call that a man had been shot on the 200 block of Santa Ana Road. The man was transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital by a private citizen.

Officers learned that the shooting victim had been visiting a friend on Santa Ana Road. There were several people with and around the victim at the time of the shooting, but no one had any specific information as to what transpired. The victim was identified as Ronald Molina, a 39-year-old resident of Hollister, was initially transported to Hazel Hawkins Hospital, but was later flown to a trauma center due to the severity of his injuries.

On August 29, 2018 the Hollister Police Department was notified that Ronald Molina died from his injuries at a trauma center in Monterey County.

Police detectives have developed and are pursuing investigative leads, but as of now no arrests have been made. The Hollister Police Department would like to express condolences to the Molina family.
