Congressman Jimmy Panetta’s office announced grant awards for Central Coast airports, but Hollister was left off the list.
According to a statement from the congressman who represents San Benito County and Hollister:
On June 6, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), announced that three airports on the central coast of California have received federal grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration. Mesa Del Rey received $334,606, Salinas Municipal received $82,581, and Watsonville Municipal received $295,200. Specifically, the federal grants will be used for runway improvements and rehabilitation.
“These grants are important investments in our region’s transportation infrastructure, creating jobs and ensuring safe passage for all cargo and pilots,” said Congressman Panetta. “Making sure our airports are fully operative is essential for the success of our agriculture industry and popular international airshows.”
