High school to observe Patriot Day on Sept. 11

This coming Wednesday, Sept. 11, San Benito High School will observe Patriot Day on campus.

There will be several activities to honor and remember those who lost their lives or were injured during the attacks on September 11, 2001.

ASB Commissioners of School Culture and Climate will create and provide to 5th block teachers a short video to honor Patriot Day. FFA students and advisors will place an honorary display of American flags on the large mound on main campus in honor of those who lost their lives. The SBHS Maintenance Department will hang a large American flag along the back side of the Administration Building. Baler ASB students will lead a gathering in the main quad at lunch that will include a moment of silence and the National Anthem played by the school band.

From Principal Adrian Ramirez: “While we do recognize that staff and students have the right not to participate, we do expect that we carry ourselves with respect during the tribute and moment of silence.”
