San Benito High School will host an event Friday shedding light on the opioid crisis, while several prominent officials will take part.
The event from 3-8 p.m. at the high school football field is to educate San Benito County families on the potential warning signs of opioid use in the household – and to provide important information on how to have that conversation if someone suspects their loved one is using opioids, according to organizers.
Assemblyman Robert Rivas and State Sen. Anna Caballero will both speak at the public gathering.

RALI will provide a trailer with a simulation of a teenager’s bedroom, where parents and families (persons over 21) can tour the room with local law enforcement, who point out warning signs of opioid use in the household.
