Haybalers vying for top state mascot in poll

The San Benito High School Haybalers mascot name is in the top four running for the state’s best/most unique mascot in a contest run by Cal-Hi Sports.

There is still time to vote for your favorite mascot. The Haybalers are among the top four, with the local school named in recognition of Hollister’s rich history in the hay industry. The town at one time more than a century ago stored the most hay of anywhere else in the world.

The other finalists are Bakersfield Drillers, the Lincoln Fighting Zebras and the Moorpark Musketeers.

Locals can vote for their favorite on the Cal-Hi Sports Twitter page here.
