Flood advisory issued for Aromas

With torrential downpours and thunderstorms over the area Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Aromas and some other communities.

The advisory noted the following:

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
  Southeastern Santa Cruz County in northern California...
  Northwestern San Benito County in central California...
  South central Santa Clara County in northern California...
  Northwestern Monterey County in central California...

* Until 515 PM PDT.

* At 314 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
  thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
  the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
  Salinas, Watsonville, Gilroy, Hollister, Corralitos, Freedom,
  Amesti, Prunedale, Interlaken, Boronda, San Juan Bautista, Aromas,
  Pajaro, Elkhorn, Las Lomas, Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley and Day
  Valley.
