A jolting earthquake hit the Aromas area early Monday.
The quake that struck just before 3 a.m. measured at 3.3 magnitude and was felt strongly in San Juan Bautista as well.
It was centered about two miles east-southeast of Aromas. Residents in Hollister felt it, but the temblor also was felt as far north as the south San Francisco area and to the south in Salinas.
It’s the latest small earthquake to strike in or near San Benito County in a string of them over the past week or so.
