San Benito County supervisors approved $40,000 in donations to local nonprofits for the 2018-19 fiscal year.
Supervisors approved the item on the consent agenda Tuesday. Those allocations to “community-based organizations” included $20,500 for the Emmaus House, $12,500 for the Community FoodBank, $4,000 for Chamberlain’s Children Center, and $3,000 for CASA of San Benito County.
Local government entities commonly donate funds to nonprofit organizations, particularly in good economic times.
