The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help related to a fatal accident Sunday on McCloskey Road in which a 6-year-old died.
It was a solo-vehicle accident east of San Felipe Road on McCloskey around 5 p.m. Sunday and it involved a gray 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck.
Jesus Mora of Hollister drove off the road and collided with a utility pole. One of the children with him died and the other sustained major injuries, according to the CHP. Mora was arrested on scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Citizens with information about the incident or incidents leading up to the crash are encouraged to call the CHP at 408-848-2324 and ask to speak with Officer Jesse Christensen.
