The California Highway Patrol is looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a fatal hit-and-run that occurred Tuesday in the San Martin area.
According to the local branch of the CHP:
The Hollister/Gilroy CHP is seeking the public’s help in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that occurred on Monterey Road in San Martin on Tuesday at approximately 9:30 p.m.
An elderly male pedestrian was struck and killed as he crossed Monterey Road south of Cox Avenue. With the help of Gilroy police, CHP investigators located a red Dodge Neon in an industrial area of Gilroy the following morning believing it had been involved in the collision.
Today, CHP investigators interviewed the registered owner of the Dodge, Neon and have eliminated the car from having been involved in the collision.
