The Chamber welcomes new President/CEO Candace Ledesma, a San Benito County native and CSUMB graduate.

“Courses at California State University Monterey Bay have prepared me for the next steps of my educational and professional journey,” she said. “These have included grant writing, professional communication, policy analysis, and collaborative negotiation, giving me a glimpse of my future career and the skills I must develop to ensure high quality professionalism. I gained insightful experience as a private tutor for the Environmental Science Department at CSUMB, as an intern to the Economic Development Department for the City of Pacific Grove, and as a volunteer coordinator for the Mayor of Marina, Bruce Delgado. I sought opportunities that would help me in prepare for a career as a collaborative leader.”

The announcement went on:

“My personal, educational, and professional experiences have provided me the opportunity to give back to the community that gave me so much growing up. I am proud to say that I was born and raised in San Benito County! I am eager to collaborate with all business owners through out the San Benito County area. I hope to learn to create and implement policy, initially at local levels, and with time, to build greater influence. The learning and networking I can do through out our community will offer a vast spectrum of cross collaboration, providing business advocacy, and promoting what San Benito County truly offers. I recognize the great value of being included in San Benito County’s unique environment, and I envision honing my skills by giving back to the community as it helps me establish my philanthropic moorings to help others.”
