Calendar Picks: Living History, Tomato Fest, arts this weekend

Credo Studio Open Mic

The San Juan Bautista studio will host its next Open Mic at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Credo is located at 1 Polk St., San Juan Bautista. Credo accepts donations as well.

Living History Days

Step back to the early days of San Juan. Meet mountain men, Civil War soldiers, Victorian ladies, and more. Enjoy craft and cooking demonstrations.¬†Enjoy an old-fashioned soda in the historic Plaza Hotel Saloon. See historic horse-drawn vehicles inside the Plaza Stables and Victorian furnishings in the Plaza Hotel and¬†Zanetta family home. It’s at the plaza next to Old Mission San Juan Bautista on the first Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tomato Fest at DeRose Winery

DeRose Winery in San Benito Count is hosting its next exciting wine and food pairing called Tomato-Fest on Saturday frmo 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to DeRose, it is a special wine-tasting showcasing some of its limited release wines along with a few house-made dishes highlighting our fresh vine-ripened tomatoes. It has a $40 admission (paid at the door) that includes entrance, food, and wine tasting along with access to the awesome specials we will be offering for that day only.

Vertigo First Saturday

Vertigo Coffee Roasters will welcome Stephanie Suess, its artist for the month of September, on Saturday night. Stephanie will be bringing her paintings and hanging out that night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Ridgemark entertainment

DJ Sergio will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight, and then Isaiah Picket will take the stage for a music performance Saturday night at Ridgemark Golf Club, 3800 Airline Highway just outside Hollister.
