Brookdale Bluegrass Festival
Friday-Sunday: From March 9-11 is the Brookdale Bluegrass Festival at the San Benito County Historical Park. It has been held at various Santa Cruz Mountains venues since 1998 and now for the first time is in Tres Pinos. It includes three days of bluegrass at the historical park off Airline Highway. There is camping, food vendors and RV spaces, and an array of bands in the weekend lineup. For details: http://www.brookdalebluegrass.com/
Saturday: The Friends of the San Benito County Free Library host a monthly book sale on the second Saturday of the month. It runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the library on Fifth Street.
Free tax prep
Saturday: It’s that time of year. The Aromas Community Grange is offering free tax prep through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance. Household incomes must be less than $54,000. Bring a photo I.D., social security card, W-2s and other forms, a voided check for direct deposit and last year’s tax return. For more, call (831) 637-9293 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mike Osborn performs
Saturday: Mike Osborn is set to perform at Ridgemark Golf Club & Resort, 3800 Airline Highway, from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Inspire Performing Arts Academy is presenting a teen dinner theater murder mystery show called “Murder at Rundown Abbey” in March.
The show is set for March 10 and 11 at Paine’s Restaurant, 421 East St. in Hollister. The Friday and Saturday shows have doors opening at 6 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7 p.m. The Sunday matinees have doors open at 1 p.m., with lunch at 1:30 p.m. and the show at 2.
Adults ages 13 and over are $30 with children 12 and under $20. A table of 8 is $220.
