Agenda: SJB panel to take up La Casa Rosa abatement

The San Juan Bautista Planning Commission and Historic Resources Board are set to meet Tuesday at San Juan Bautista City Hall, 311 Second St., to consider the following:

• Regarding the dilapidated La Casa Rosa structure on Third Street, the historic resources board will consider a recommendation of the Historic Resources Board and direct the city manager to abate the public safety hazard.

The board will consider allocating up to $6,000 from unappropriated general fund reserves to pay for the costs of staff time, engineering analysis, and construction of the repairs, according to the agenda. Members are being asked to direct the city manager to take all steps necessary to recover the costs from the property owner through a special assessment or lien.

The planning commission then will consider a recommendation by the Historic Resources Board for a Sign Permit for 312A Third Street. The applicant is Jeremy VanderKraats with Signs by Van.
