On Oct. 29, the Hollister Police Department, San Benito County Probation Department, San Benito County Sherriff’s Office, Santa Clara County “Safe Task Force”, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole and the Unified Narcotics Taskforce team conducted a sex registrant compliance check.

The teams conducted compliance checks from late afternoon into the early evening hours. They attempted to contact over 125 registered sex offenders in both the City of Hollister and San Benito County. Six registrants are suspected of being out of compliance and are currently outstanding. Their names will not be released at this time due to the nature of the ongoing investigation.

Compliance checks organized by the Hollister Police Department are conducted on an annual basis. It is an important step to ensure sex offenders are obeying the conditions of their court ordered registration. The Hollister Police Department would like to thank our partnering agencies for their continued support in our mutual goal of keeping our community safer.
