San Benito High School teachers, counselors and administrators each week recognize students as Baler STRONG Students of the Week.
STRONG is an acronym for (Scholarship, Teamwork, Reflection, Opportunity, Nurture and Growth), representing the core values of San Benito High School. Each student earning recognition is presented with a certificate signifying the honor.
Here are the recipients for week of Feb. 25-March 1. The following students were presented with Baler STRONG certificates:
The Counseling Department nominated senior Guadalupe Galvan and sophomore Quinn Bush. Galvan was nominated for her making the most of her opportunities on campus. Her nomination states that she “has worked hard all four years of high school to prepare for her next level of education.” Bush’s nomination for the Baler STRONG value of “nurture” states that he has displayed “determination, follow-through and sticktoitiveness.”
The English Department nominated senior Jeffrey Schuler and sophomore Oscar Ceja. Schuler was nominated for the value of scholarship, with his nomination noting that “He is taking AP (Advanced Placement) for the first time and is doing very well. He has been working really hard and coming to AFT (Academic Focus Time) sessions to get extra help. He always participates in class and helps other people who are struggling.” Ceja, who was nominated for the value of growth, “has made a dramatic turnaround this year. He works hard, has a great attitude, and is a pleasure to have in class.”
