Two in one: Police arrest suspects in separate theft, weapons cases

Hollister police are investigating a drug and weapons case related to a theft.

According to a Hollister police statement:

Police investigating a theft case located the suspect who is with another man in possession of drugs and weapons.
On March 31, 2017, Officer Yamamoto conducted a shoplifting investigation at Ace Hardware. Video surveillance was obtained and still images of the suspect were disseminated throughout the police department.

Just a couple hours later Detective Leland was at the Quick Stop Market at 10 San Felipe Road when he observed a man who looked just like the suspect in the surveillance photos of the theft.

The man was seated in the passenger side of a vehicle and Detective Leland confirmed it was the same suspect being sought by Officer Yamamoto. The driver of the car was identified as Robert Jimenez (51) and officers discovered he had four warrants for his arrest.

Jimenez was arrested for the warrants and found to be in possession of illegal metal knuckles and illegal narcotics. He was transported to the San Benito County Jail and booked for the four warrants and the drug charges.

The theft suspect was questioned and released at the scene with charges being referred to the District Attorney’s Office.

Anyone with information about either of these cases is asked to call Officer Yamamto at the Hollister Police Department at 636-4330. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the WeTip hotline at 800-87-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may qualify for a reward.
