On April 21, San Benito County 4H joined the YMCA at their Healthy Kids Day.
4H had a very large booth with a a prize wheel and information on what 4H has to offer, also a tomato planting station. The tomato seedlings were kindly donated from Penny Lane. Also, 4H had many animals available for the community to interact with. Children of all ages had a great time socializing with animals, getting their hands in dirty in soil planting tomato seedlings, and learning about 4H while winning prizes at the prize wheel.
4H estimated that about 400 people visited the 4H booth, and much more came to the event total. The Healthy Kids Day Event was a huge success reaching to many families offering healthy lifestyle information. If you are interested in joining 4-H email the 4H office at [email protected].
How to Get Involved in 4H
4H is a hands on learning program for kids from kindergarten all the way through high school. Boys and girls in 4H get to be involved in a variety of projects.
