With surge, all Hollister district students to full distance learning

In light of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases within our county,  the District will return to full distance learning starting December 8 and this includes our special education students at Ladd Lane. Recently, San Benito County was one of 28 counties throughout California that has been moved back into the purple tier or  COVID widespread due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases locally and throughout the states. On 12/1/20, the county had 36 new cases alone. According to the State of California, our county would have to average fewer than 7 cases per day to exit the Purple or “Widespread” Tier.

The safety and wellness of students, families and school personnel continue to be the highest priorities of the Hollister School District.   Please know that the District is aware and concerned about the challenges that this creates for Ladd Lane students in Moderate to Severe Program and their families. State recommendations, staffing concerns, and issues that may occur throughout the holiday season have resulted in a more cautious approach until we get to the New Year.

The District  remains committed to updating parents and guardians as new information becomes available. Please know that we will continue to do  our best to get our students back into the classrooms safely when it is safe to do so. Thank you for your flexibility, understanding and partnership.
