A major injury traffic collision was reported at Highway 156 and Buena Vista Road on Friday afternoon.
A 67-year-old woman from Vacaville sustained major injuries, and a 22-year-old Hollister man sustained minor injuries in the wreck, according to Officer Chris Miceli with the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at about 3:40 p.m. Friday on the highway in Hollister. Preliminary information indicated the Hollister man was on Buena Vista Road in a white Chevy Tahoe and turned left onto Highway 156. The CHP suspects he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and collided with a white Ford towing a jeep, driven by the Vacaville woman, heading south on the highway.
The woman had to be extricated from the vehicle, and the road was closed for about an hour and 45 minutes.
