A small earthquake rattled the San Juan Bautista area on Saturday morning.
The jolting earthquake at about 5:35 a.m. registered as a magnitude 2.8. It was a brief but stern temblor centered near the intersection of Rocks Road and Highway 101, according to the USGS. It was three miles west-northwest of San Juan Bautista.
The earthquake had a depth of about 3.9 miles, according to the USGS.
It followed another magnitude 2.8 quake near Pinnacles National Park a bit over an hour earlier. That quake was at 4:23 a.m. It was almost four miles northwest of Pinnacles National Park.
A third small quake shook in the same area of Pinnacles National Park at about 6:46 a.m., according to the USGS. It registered at magnitude 3.2
