A head-on vehicle collision resulted in the deaths of two Hollister men Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at 8:05 a.m. on Frazier Lake Road south of Bloomfield Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported two unnamed males, ages 53 and 37, died at the scene. The 53-year-old was in a 2015 Nissan Altima and the 37-year-old was in a 2005 Nissan Frontier.
According to the CHP:
The driver of the Altima was traveling southbound on Frazer Lake Road south of Bloomfield Avenue at 50-55 MPH approaching the Frontier traveling northbound on Frazer Lake Road south of Bloomfield Avenue at 50-55 MPH approaching.
For an unknown reason, the Altima drifted off the right shoulder of southbound Frazer Lake Road and struck a metal guardrail. After striking the guardrail. The vehicle then veered into the northbound lane of Frazer Lake Road colliding with the front of the Frontier. As a result of the collision, both parties suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Alcohol and/or drugs may have played a factor in this collision. The collision is still under investigation. Citizens having information regarding this collision are encouraged to call Officer M. Figone at (408) 848-2324.
