Are you a classic car buff, or just interested in occasionally perusing well-oiled machinery?
Then you’ll want to reserve a day in mid-July for the Hollister Downtown Street Festival & Car Show. It’s a car lover’s dream, to say the least. After visiting this sizzling car show, the concept of a driverless car will seem like a galaxy away.
This Hollister Downtown Association classic–among the HDA’s lineup of events for the year–the Street Festival & Car Show features dozens of entries and hundreds of people strolling through downtown Hollister checking out the array of vintage cars, sweet treats and entertainment.
The Street Festival, as it’s widely known, features the cars lined along San Benito Street and other side streets nearby along with bands, vendors and, of course, free watermelon (some people call it the Watermelon Festival.)
It’s the cars, though, that gain most of the attention.
Among 15 winners in various judging events for the 2016 festival was the first place winner for Best of Show: owner Bruce Himebauch’s 1974 De Tomaso Pantera GTS, according to the HDA.
