Sheriff’s office: Watch out for flooding

The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office is letting local residents know about the potential for flooding with the coming storm tonight.

Heavy winds and rain are expected into the early hours Thursday. The following is a release from the sheriff’s office late Wednesday afternoon:

The National Weather Service is predicting a significant amount of rain and heavy winds for San Benito County starting this afternoon/evening, Wednesday, January 16 through early Thursday, January 17th.  A flash flood watch is in effect from 3:00PM Wednesday through 3:00AM Thursday morning.  A wind advisory will also be in effect.  San Benito County is urging you to take the time now to prepare for a potential flooding event and evacuation this evening/early tomorrow morning.
