The committee organizing the 150th anniversary celebration in San Juan Bautista has released the schedule of events for this weekend’s festivities.
Below is the schedule for the sesquicentennial events in the Mission City on Saturday and Sunday:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
9:00-11:30am: Pancake Breakfast at Texas Lodge, Second & Polk Streets.
10:00am: Plaque monument dedication at old volunteer fire station on Polk St., former site of City Hall; local dignitaries/speeches
11:00am: Downtown parade featuring a timeline of SJB history
12:30pm (-ish): Family fun/picnic day in Abbe Park: games and live entertainment featuring folkloric dancing, Gilroy Ukulele Jammers, Alta California Dance Co., Zack Frietas (3pm) and SOMOS (4pm)!
6:30pm: Burning of old and tattered flags by our Eagle Scouts at the VFW.
7:30pm: Dance at the VFW, $10.00 admission. Featuring The Backyard Blues Band
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
1-5pm: Sip and Celebrate Stroll Wine, Beer & Cider Stroll. $35 Tickets available on Eventbrite & @ Vertigo, Bears Hideaway & 18th Barrel until Sat 9/7. $45 @ check-in – 307 3rd St.
