On Tuesday, Sept. 11, San Benito High School will observe Patriot Day on campus.
There will be several activities in honor and remembrance of those who lost their lives or were injured during the attacks of Sept.11, 2001. The ASB will share a brief video that teachers can show to students during Fifth Block. There will be a lunchtime moment of silence during which ASB students will lead a gathering in the Main Quad that will include a moment of silence and the National Anthem played by the school band.
While the school recognizes that staff and students have the right not to participate, Principal Adrian Ramirez noted that “we expect that we carry ourselves with respect during the tribute and moment of silence.”
Future Farmers of America students and advisors will place an honorary display of American flags on the large mound in honor of those who lost their lives and the Maintenance Department will hang a large American flag along the backside of the Administration Building.
