San Benito High School officials on Wednesday, Sept. 11 met with representatives of the Hollister Rebels and Vikings youth football organizations to reach a short-term agreement that will allow the Vikings to use Andy Hardin Stadium for games this Saturday and the Rebels to use the facility on Sunday.

SBHS facilities officials planned to do a walk-through of the stadium with each group prior to the weekend games and plan to meet with them again after the weekend to reflect on how the arrangements worked for all parties.

“We are pleased to develop this partnership and will continue to work toward a long-term solution for field usage,” said Superintendent Dr. Shawn Tennenbaum. “The district is pleased to be able to work with local youth sports organizations on the use of campus facilities as we have done with San Benito Stage Company, San Benito Aquatics, Hollister National Junior Basketball, the Razorbacks wrestling program and others. The ultimate goal is for youth groups to work with the district for the benefit of all youth in our community.” Tennenbaum said the goal is to have the youth football teams be able to use the stadium for games throughout the season, as the groups work with the district on a long-term agreement.
